About Us

The West Haven Elks Lodge at 265 Main Street has been a fixture of this shoreline city long enough that generations of families recognize it on sight. On any given week, you might walk in for kindergarten registration, catch a lively bingo night, or grab one of the famous subs that sell out fast whenever they're offered to the public. That variety is not an accident. It reflects exactly what the Elks have always been: a place that shows up for the community in whatever form the community needs.

The lodge draws a genuinely mixed crowd, from longtime members who have held their cards for decades to first-time visitors who stumbled in for an event and stayed. The interior is open and welcoming, with enough room to host everything from civic meetings to fundraisers. The staff are friendly and familiar, the kind of people who remember your name by your second visit.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded in 1868, and that history of charitable work runs through every event this lodge organizes. Proceeds from bingo nights, sub sales, and community gatherings flow back into local scholarships, veterans' programs, and youth initiatives right here in West Haven, CT.

What We Offer

The lodge operates as a full-service community hub, not just a membership club. Bingo nights are a staple, drawing regulars who come for the games and stay for the company. The staff keep things running smoothly, and familiar faces behind the tables make newcomers feel at ease quickly.

The public sub sales have earned genuine fans across West Haven. These are made-to-order, loaded sandwiches that move fast, so checking ahead for the next sale date is always worth it. Beyond food and games, the lodge opens its spacious hall for community events including school registration drives, civic gatherings, and private functions.

Members gain access to the full range of Elks programs: youth scholarships, veterans' outreach, drug awareness initiatives, and national charitable campaigns. Whether you are exploring membership or simply attending a one-time public event, the lodge at 265 Main Street is built to serve everyone who walks through the door.

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
